Bookary is designed to be a privacy-first application. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to our servers.

All your book tracking data, reading history, and preferences are stored locally on your device using local storage databases.

2. Camera and Image Processing

The App requires access to your device's Camera to function.

Purpose: The camera is used exclusively to scan physical book covers, text, and barcodes to identify books and extract text using on-device OCR technology.
No Image Storage or Transmission: Images are processed locally on your device in real-time. We do not save your photos or upload image data to our servers.

3. Network Usage and Third-Party APIs

While Bookary stores your personal library locally, it may require Internet Access to fetch book metadata such as titles, authors, and cover images.

When you scan or search for a book, the App may send extracted text queries (such as title or ISBN) to public APIs and search providers.
These may include services such as Google Books, Open Library, DuckDuckGo, Goodreads, or equivalent metadata providers.
No Personal Data is Shared: Only the search query is transmitted. Your identity, device files, or private library data are not shared.

4. Data Security

Because your personal data remains on your device, security depends on your device protection. We recommend using a passcode, PIN, or biometric lock.

If you uninstall the App or clear app storage, your local library may be permanently deleted unless backed up manually.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
